A little care now will keep your outdoor furniture and fire pits looking beautiful for seasons to come. Here are 5 tips for winterizing your outdoor space in Truckee and Tahoe.
- Clean It Up. Remove dirt, leaves and debris from furniture frames, tabletops and fire pits. Wash with mild soap (Dawn) and water, then allow everything to dry completely.
- Cover It Up. Protect furniture and fire pits with properly fitted, weather-resistant covers. Secure covers against winter winds and check periodically for snow buildup.
- Store Cushions Inside. Clean and thoroughly dry cushions, pillows and outdoor fabrics before storing them in a dry, protected space.
- Store Frames Upright. Keep chairs and furniture frames in their intended upright position rather than turning them upside down, where snow and moisture can collect. Follow manufacturer storage recommendations.
- Stay Clear of Snow Shed. Move furniture, umbrellas and fire pits away from rooflines where falling snow and ice can cause serious damage. Choose a sheltered location whenever possible.
A little preparation now means more time relaxing when patio season returns.
