Mountain Home Center was first opened in May of 1989 at the location of Gravity Haus Sport Hotel & Stella Restaurant on Brockway Rd in Truckee.    In the early days woodstoves was the main product category and Mountain Home Center was dedicated to serving a mountain population that relied heavily on wood for heat.  Hot Spring Spa, hot tubs and patio furniture helped round out the product offerings and seasonal nature of the hearth products.    The growth of Truckee and the explosion in housing and construction meant growth in all categories including the addition of outdoor kitchens, saunas, home decor and expansion into gas fireplaces and stoves. Continued growth created a need for a larger location. In 2005 the present location at 11403 Brockway Rd was conceived and constructed. The vision was to create a premier showroom for fireplaces, stoves and hot tubs indoors and an equally impressive outdoor showroom for patio furniture, umbrellas, home décor, barbecues and firepits.

Today you’ll find more than 80 fireplaces and stoves on display with many of them ready to ‘burn’, giving customers an actual sense of heat, flame, aesthetic possible From traditional to the most contemporary linear fireplaces on the market, our showroom is the leader in inspiration.

Likewise, the hot tub area of the showroom houses the various sizes, styles, configurations offered by Hot Spring Spas. One of the things that may surprise customers, is our test soak area. Before you buy you are invited to ‘test soak’. You will experience the jets, the lights, the wellness of a salt-water system personally before selecting the hot tub that is right for you.

Wander around our outdoor patio, sit, swivel and lounge in any of our outdoor furniture collections on display. You will find everything from classic Adirondacks in green-built sustainable materials, to teak, to long-lasting wrought iron, contemporary aluminum and woven chairs and sectionals. The possibilities are endless for creating your outdoor retreat.

Not only has our physical store front grown, so has our geographical service areas.  Many of the finest home builders in the Reno, Carson City, South Lake Tahoe and Sierra Valley areas have discovered what makes Mountain Home Center different from our competitors.   Yes, our showroom is second-to-none, but our pre installation service, our installation service and our after-the-fact service is noticeably superior!

The Mountain Home Center team is made up of 35 + employees specializing in sales, service, installation, delivery, warehouse, office and operations all aimed at providing customers a five-star experience. Mountain Home Center has been an essential business in the Truckee, Tahoe community for more than 34 years. The owners have been and remain involved in and are committed to this community. Mountain Home Center is a family-owned small business, with a commitment to supporting local non-profits, youth sports, and many other worthy local causes.

What makes co-owner Tom Just most proud of Mountain Home Center?
