For over three decades, Mountain Home Center has been the premier destination for homeowners in the Truckee, Lake Tahoe, and Reno regions. Our mission is to supply homeowners with exceptional fireplaces, stoves, hot tubs, and outdoor living products, all backed by professional installation and five-star service. We understand the unique needs of a mountain home, and our curated selection is built to withstand the elements while providing unparalleled comfort and style.
Our Story: Rooted in the Community
Founded right here in Truckee, Mountain Home Center has been a proud part of this community since May 1989. In the early days, our focus was on providing woodstoves for a mountain population that relied heavily on wood for heat. We quickly expanded our product offerings to include Hot Spring Spas, hot tubs, and patio furniture to meet the year-round needs of our customers. The growth of Truckee and the explosion in housing and construction led us to add more categories, including outdoor kitchens, saunas, home decor, and a wide selection of gas fireplaces and stoves.
Continued growth created a need for a larger location. In 2005, we conceived and constructed our present showroom at 11403 Brockway Rd, with the vision of creating a premier destination for hearth and home comforts.
Our Showroom: An Experience in Itself
Today, you’ll find more than 80 fireplaces and stoves on display, with many of them actively burning to give you a true sense of the heat, flame, and aesthetic. From traditional to the most contemporary linear fireplaces, our showroom is the leader in inspiration.
Our hot tub showroom features various sizes, styles, and configurations of Hot Spring Spas, including a unique ‘test soak’ area. We invite you to experience the jets, lights, and the wellness of a salt-water system personally before selecting the hot tub that’s right for you.
Wander around our outdoor patio and discover an endless array of possibilities for creating your ideal outdoor retreat. Sit, swivel, and lounge in our collections of outdoor furniture, including classic Adirondacks in green-built sustainable materials, long-lasting wrought iron, contemporary aluminum, and beautiful teak and woven chairs and sectionals.

Not only has our physical storefront grown, but so have our service areas. We are proud to serve some of the finest home builders in the Reno, Carson City, South Lake Tahoe, and Sierra Valley areas. We are set apart from our competitors by our superior service—from pre-installation consultation to professional installation and dedicated after-the-fact support.
Our team of 35+ employees specializes in sales, service, installation, delivery, warehouse, office, and operations, all aimed at providing a five-star customer experience. As a family-owned small business, we are committed to supporting local non-profits, youth sports, and many other worthy local causes in the Truckee-Tahoe community.

Mountain Home Center was first opened in May of 1989 at the location of Gravity Haus Sport Hotel & Stella Restaurant on Brockway Rd in Truckee. In the early days woodstoves was the main product category and Mountain Home Center was dedicated to serving a mountain population that relied heavily on wood for heat. Hot Spring Spa, hot tubs and patio furniture helped round out the product offerings and seasonal nature of the hearth products. The growth of Truckee and the explosion in housing and construction meant growth in all categories including the addition of outdoor kitchens, saunas, home decor and expansion into gas fireplaces and stoves. Continued growth created a need for a larger location. In 2005 the present location at 11403 Brockway Rd was conceived and constructed. The vision was to create a premier showroom for fireplaces, stoves and hot tubs indoors and an equally impressive outdoor showroom for patio furniture, umbrellas, home décor, barbecues and firepits.

Likewise, the hot tub area of the showroom houses the various sizes, styles, configurations offered by Hot Spring Spas. One of the things that may surprise customers, is our test soak area. The Mountain Home Center team is made up of 35 + employees specializing in sales, service, installation, delivery, warehouse, office and operations all aimed at providing customers a five-star experience.
